Select Products Limited has been actively serving the UK Plumbing, mechanical engineering and construction trades since 1988. However, the company's experience within the trade goes back much further.

Alan Archer, Managing Director of The Select Group began his career as a Plumber, establishing his own plumbing and heating contracting company in Torbay in 1969.  For a decade the company grew and expanded business into both the domestic and commercial sectors. During the 1970s energy crisis the company pioneered the design and installation of solar powered water heating systems.

This company’s reputation and level of expertise gained recognition from America's leading manufacturer of solar powered equipment and Alan was invited to spearhead the "New Products Division" of the Northrup Corporation in Dallas, Texas. Following Northrup Inc.’s acquisition by Atlantic Richfield Oil Company (ARCO), Mr Archer was selected to manage and expand the company's Pacific operations in Hawaii.

Over several years the company undertook some of the largest and most prestigious solar and energy conservation projects in the world. The Archer family gained US citizenship and continued to live and work to the United States. Over the following years Alan moved on to hold a number of senior marketing positions for several major US and Japanese manufacturers specialising in the plumbing, heating and air-conditioning industries.

In 1988, Alan established Select International Limited in the UK, initially to assist US based manufacturers to enter and develop new business opportunities within the expanding European community. By 1991 Select was persuaded by its US clients to commence physical distribution within the UK and Select Products evolved.

Select Products has continued to grow and has successfully developed a large stockist network and currently supplies in excess of 800 products to 2,000 plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, engineering, maintenance and light-side builders’ merchant locations across the UK and into Europe.

From its original roots in the trade to its current multi-product supplier status, Select Products brings the commitment, flexibility, experience and a partnering attitude that will continue to serve its own and its customer’s growth into the 21st century.
