Alan Archer - Group Managing Director
Owner and founder of The Select Group of Companies Ltd., Alan's expertise in Plumbing/ HVAC stems from early hands-on experience as owner/manager of his own plumbing firm in the 1970s. His career led him overseas in the late 70s to a number of managerial Sales and Marketing roles within the Solar Energy and Refrigeration Industry in the USA and Japan. Returning to the UK in the late 80s he established Select International as a consultancy assisting US companies to establish a presence in Europe. Over the following years Select has grown into 4 businesses involved in product development and distribution, e-commerce, product development and warehousing and has recently been consolidated as The Select Group of Companies Ltd.
In addition to his business activities, Alan has held and continues to hold a number of voluntary positions in the South West, including Governor of South Devon College (past), Chairman of Torbay Business Forum (current), Non Executive Director of Torbay Economic Development Company (current), Advisory Board Member Devon & Cornwall Business Council (current), and Executive positions in both Devon Int'l Trade Forum and S Devon Chamber of Commerce (past).

Julie Archer - Director
A director of the Select Group since its formation in the late 1980s, Julie's role is far reaching within Select. Working closely with Alan, Julie also oversees HR and employee relations and H&S at the Group along with assisting in Accounts and Purchasing.
In addition to Julie's role at the Select Group, Julie has a Qualification in Health and Social Care, is an active and qualified Yoga Teacher with over 20 years experience and also works as recognised Doula (birthing companion) with approaching 10 years experience.

Marc King - Sales Director
Marc started his career from a technical background after gaining a degree at the University of Wales (Swansea) in Electronics with Communications which he then followed by a graduate programme at Siemens Communications as a Technical Support Engineer. His career developed from a technical to a more senior customer facing role when he moved to project management working for a number of blue chip companies and public sector organisations worldwide including Ford, IBM, Her Majesty's Customs &Excise, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Rail Track and more.
His role at Select Group began in 2004 as National Accounts Manager responsible for all merchant accounts. Now Sales Director after a recent reorganisation, Marc heads up the merchant distribution division, Select Products Int'l Ltd., and is involved in a number of operational duties within the Group and currently acts as a second to Alan in driving forward the Alert Project and Select Time.

Loretta King - Marketing & Operations Director
Following graduation from the University of Wales (Swansea) with a Politics degree and a year's work experience in Barcelona, Spain, Loretta joined London based integrated marketing agency Communicator/ 141 as an Account Executive. Whilst working on a number of high profile FMCG brands such as: Kimberly Clarke, Camelot (The National Lottery), Colgate Palmolive, Anheuser Busch & Starbucks, Loretta rose to a Senior Account Management position. Seizing the opportunity to work for a sister agency in Melbourne, Australia for a year, Loretta gained experience of the Australasian market working on a number of well-known Australian brands.
On returning to the UK, Loretta joined the Select Group of Companies Ltd to head the Marketing Department dealing with the Groups needs and external marketing clients. As Select has grown and with the development of Trade Counter Direct.com Loretta's role has evolved to encompass Marketing, PR, Customer Relations and Operations across the Group.

Reid Archer - Online Director
With a background in graphics and new media, Reid joined Select as a Graphic Designer after finishing a New Multi Media course at City of Bristol College. Initially responsible for more traditional graphic design, Reid took a selected range of products from Select Products online. After early success with an EBay store, Reid was tasked with designing and launching TradeCounterDirect.com the group's online division. Now head of Trade Counter Direct, Reid has taken the website from a small start-up to one of Select Products biggest customers.
Recently re-launched with a new design and broader product offering, Trade Counter Direct.com continues to break its own sales records month on month. Reid has also been responsible for the launch of TCD Tool Shop the 1st shopping app for busy tradesmen. In addition to heading up Trade Counter Direct.com, Reid works closely with Loretta developing the company's marketing and communications materials for both on and offline campaigns.

Bonnie-Rae Hughes - Financial Director
Of the Directors at Select (after Alan and Julie), Bonnie-Rae has been with the company the longest having joined Select in 2002 having previously worked as a PA and book-keeper for a number of local businesses. She began her career as an Accounts Assistant and over the past years, with her increased experience and qualifications, Bonnie's role has grown.
Bonnie now heads the finance department and is responsible for dealing with external accountants, commercial banking, customer accounts and internal financial HR issues. Bonnie also looks after the Select Facilities division as account manager for the company's storage and warehousing customers.
